P90X Day 3

I started P90X on Saturday after finishing my 90 Day Challenge with the Power 90 program. I can definitely attest to the X in P90X, that it stands for extreme.

My entire body is sore after two workouts. The workouts are more intense than any I have ever seen or done. They also seem to be targeting different parts to muscles that I have been used to working out. For example, the quad exercises seem to be targeting not only the tops but also the insides and outsides as well. They mimic athletic movements that you might do in certain sports. This makes them feel a bit more natural as well.

Another thing to mention are the meals, they are huge. My calorie intake has gone from about 1800 to roughly 2400-2600. That is another meal in itself just from the difference alone. The food is just a flavorful and easy to make as before, there is just more of it. I imagine this is due to the intensity of the workouts increasing.

I would suggest this program to anyone that is already actively working out and is disciplined in the their diet. If you aren’t active or have health issues, I would suggest starting with the Power 90 program and the moving to P90X once you have finished.

The great thing about our 90 day time line is that Heidi and I finish up just a couple days before our wedding, just in time for our honeymoon in London as well! Woo-hoo!
