Roller Coaster Saturday: Part 2

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Now continuing from Part 1.

Heidi and I got home from the emergency room about 3 hours later. Once home I laid down on the couch to relax as I was very doped up on a narcotic cocktail that the doctor had given me.

While I laid there I began thinking about the plans that I had for the rest of the evening. Today was Heidi and I’s anniversary and I had planned to reenact our first date. Now I was thinking about what she would be doing for me whereas I would have normally done for her (ie. open doors). Although I was a little frustrated about my condition, I let it go and realized that it wasn’t a big deal.

First we had to go and pick up my meds from the pharmacy. Once leaving the pharmacy, Heidi asked me where we were going as she was driving. She knew we were going to dinner but didn’t know where.

Roller Coaster Saturday: Part 1

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

So, as you can imagine from the title, Saturday was quite a day.

After finishing Heidi’s road bike, we went out for a ride together in the morning. The front brake needed to adjusted so we came back and my neighbor John fixed it for us. We then decided to go ride over to Jamba Juice to get a smoothie.

Just in front of the store I attempted to ride up through a driveway dip in the curb. All of a sudden the front tire sharply cut to the left (the curb had a bit of a lip that stuck up) and my body continued to the right, thus throwing me from my bicycle. I reached out with my right hand to brace my fall and continued to roll across the sidewalk. As I stood up I looked down at my right hand and my pinky was jetting out perpendicular to the other fingers. I looked at Heidi and said “I think I broke it”, surprisingly though, it didn’t really hurt, more uncomfortable than anything.

Review: Spore Origins

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Spore Origins is a new game that was release for the iPhone on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. It uses the accelerometer to move a creature that you create. As you pass levels you can add new types of parts; perceptive, offensive, defensive, movement. You can customize the look of your creature from the color to pattern and can even select a picture from your iPhone to use as a pattern. Another way to customize your creature is by shifting its shape, which I have noticed can really affect the way your creature handles.

New Home (update)

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Heidi and I were able to find a place, and get this, it’s in our same building. YEA!! We had put up a notice in some of the common areas asking if anyone was looking for a renter. Someone called me and we went to check out his place. Wow, what a nice place it was too. With hardwood floors and tile everywhere and also the fact that it was cooler in temp and quieter. We signed a lease with him this last weekend and will be moving in on July 15th, if not sooner. Whew!

New Home?

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Heidi and I just received a notice on Wednesday that we are going to have to move out in 60 days. Apparently, the owner wants to move back in to this unit. Although we are little stressed about having to move, we are excited to have a new place to call our own.

After talking to one of our neighbors, I found out that one of the units in our complex may become available. We are really hoping to get that place. It would make the move so easy, not to mention that we wouldn’t have to leave our wonderful neighborhood.
