Heidi and I started the 90 day fitness program on Friday. The program is called Beach Bodies and is the precursor to the famous PX-90 program. It cost us $75 for the program. It included 2 DVDs, a workout resistance band, instructional literature, and a meal cookbook.
So far we are both really enjoying the program. What is great, is that her brother and sister-in-law put together weekly menus for us based on our necessary calorie intake for each of us. The menu is comprised of 5 meals a day, 3 main and 2 snacks. The food is all very healthy and portioned appropriately. Another added benefit is that with the weekly menus, we also received a grocery checklist. It remove most of the hassle of grocery planning and shopping having the checklist. Heidi and I agree that with the meals planned out and having the checklist, it has allowed us to focus more on exercise and putting the meals together (prep, cooking, portioning).
I am very happy to say that Heidi is actually more motivated than I am about this program. Bless her heart, because I have my broken finger and it has limited me on what I am capable of doing, she has been prepping and cooking most of the meals. I help with what I can, which isn’t much, but in a few days, I will be able to help out more.
Here are my entries for each of the previous days:
Friday:
Meals (10 out of 10) – I ate exactly what was on the menu for the day.
Exercise (8 out of 10) – I didn’t do the specified workout but I did walk vigorously uphill for about 2.5 miles.
Saturday:
Meals (8/10) – Today Heidi and I selected to be our “free day”. We mostly ate what was on the menu (healthy) but did have a couple things that weren’t on it.
Exercise (7/10) – Being that is was our free day, we didn’t do our workouts but we did walk around doing a bunch of errands most of the day.
Sunday:
Meals (9/10) – I ate everything on the menu but did have a hot dog at our friends BBQ.
Exercise (10/10) – We did our cardio workout. We also spent roughly 6 hours doing house cleaning which really got us to break a sweat.
